Working of mobile Phones

What is a mobile phone?

A mobile phone, also called cell phone also known as handset is an electronic device that accesses the cellular. Its most outstanding feature is its portability, as it allows you to communicate from anywhere that has coverage.

The mobile phone is also called cell phone because the service operates through a network of cells, where each antenna signal repeater is a cell, although there are mobile satellite telephone networks.

Mobile Phone Features

The main function of the handset is voice communication, such as fixed line, along with sending SMS text messages. But with the emergence of so-called smart phones or smartphones, the mobile phone has gained many additional features to telephony, such as Internet access, email, wireless short-range Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, multimedia, office applications, games and photograph.

Thus, the mobile can have multiple devices in one small, portable, since due to their computing capabilities can act as MP3 player, camera, game console, FM radio, GPS, compass, PDA or PDA.

Operation

The mobile or smartphone or phone, basically consists of two components:
The network of mobile communications, comprising a network of transmitting stations, receiving stations (repeaters and base stations RBS) and a series of telephone switching MSC for connecting with the public telephone network PSTN, thus enabling communication between mobile phones or between mobile phones and landlines in the traditional fixed network.
The portable telephone terminals, which provide access to the wireless network.

By connecting the mobile phone communicates with a base station, and as the user along with your mobile phone is moved, the computer systems that manage the mobile network are moving the call to the next base station, transparently to the user.
